AVEVA VPE P&ID 7.2

An intelligent, AutoCAD-based P&ID design application

AVEVA VPE P&ID is a design system which stores intelligent engineering data onto graphical entities in an AutoCAD drawing while the designer draws and annotates the P&IDs. These intelligent P&IDs, containing tagged items, quantities and connectivity data, can be loaded into the AVEVA schematic model via AVEVA P&ID Manager, or synchronised with the AVEVA VPE Workbench database for the production of project reports and datasheets.

Key Features

Database integration
VPE P&ID can export data into the AVEVA P&ID Manager application, allowing P&IDs from different sources to be consolidated into the project’s model database.
When used online to the AVEVA VPE Workbench database, VPE P&ID allows database information to be retrieved and displayed on the P&ID, or used for design validation during the draughting process.
Effective stand-alone application
Ideal for working at remote sites, or for project subcontractors.
Flexible project configuration
Allows the use of many industry naming standards, such as ISA, KKS or PIP. It also allows for project configuration of attributes such as line styles, layers, colours, fonts and so on, to produce P&IDs which comply with users’ CAD standards.
Standard AutoCAD user interface and concepts
VPE P&ID supports AutoCAD 2008.
Easy-to-use catalogue editor
New intelligent symbols can be added rapidly, or standard AutoCAD symbols re-used by adding intelligence to them. 'Dumb' AutoCAD P&IDs can be easily converted into intelligent P&IDs.

Automation functions make the P&ID draughting process fast and easy. Diagrams can be drawn once and re-used within the design or elsewhere.

What's new in VPE P&ID 7.2

Full Excel interface for rapid editing of P&ID data
Data manipulation is now made easier, more accurate and versatile. An Excel file may be created from P&IDs, tags and UDAs and used for many purposes.

Attributes can be updated in Excel and imported back into the P&ID; VPE P&ID automatically validates imported Project lists of values to identify inconsistencies and prevent unauthorised edits to the drawing.

Individual Excel worksheets are configurable using the VPE P&ID Administrator.
Tag duplication checking
Stand-alone duplicate tag checking can be carried out automatically across the entire set of project drawings.
Improved dialogue boxes
Common tasks are made easier and more efficient.
